Dario Villamar, MD, is a medical oncologist and hematologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating a range of cancers and blood disorders, with a focus on breast, colorectal, lung and genitourinary cancers. Dr. Villamar is also actively involved in clinical research and enrolling patients in clinical trials, always with the goal of offering the best possible treatment for each patient.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Villamar has an interest in cancer health equity and making high quality cancer care more broadly accessible to underserved populations. His research and outreach efforts are centered around the best way to minimize disparities in care for Hispanic and Latino patients and how to leverage community-based organizations to increase education, awareness and cancer services to vulnerable populations.
Dr. Villamar's practice is based at the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Ill., where patients receive the expertise and investigational therapies of the University of Chicago Medicine in a convenient community setting.
