Zainab Obaidi, MD, is a clinical nephrologist interested in glomerular diseases (diabetic kidney disease, autoimmune disorders, genetic disorders) and thrombotic microangiopathies (damaged red blood cells in the body). As part of her approach to care, Dr. Obaidi is actively involved in glomerular disease trials and provides specialized care in patients with glomerular diseases and conditions.
She is part of the nephrology team managing the Glomerular Clinic team at the UChicago Medicine River East location. This clinic is designed to comprehensively address the unique challenges posed by glomerulonephritis and related conditions. This multidisciplinary clinic offers patients tailored assessments, evidence-based treatments and compassionate support throughout their patients’ diagnostic journey and treatment trajectory.
The clinic will also serve as a center of research and innovation, fostering collaboration between experts from various medical disciplines to advance understanding of glomerular diseases, to support access to excellence in patient care and clinical research.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Obaidi is dedicated to improving kidney health and awareness in the community and is the faculty lead for the Kidney Club at the University of Chicago.
