Geriatric Psychiatry Program

Our Geropsychiatry Program specializes in the evaluation and treatment of older adults.

Our clinicians conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans based on current, evidenced-based therapies.

We assess common psychiatric problems in the elderly in a complete biopsychosocial manner, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Memory problems
  • Sleep disturbance and disorders
  • Substance use disorders

Treatment is typically carried out in the outpatient setting, but inpatient hospitalization is available if appropriate. A full array of ancillary medical and neurological assessments is available where necessary.

Treatment may include:

  • Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
  • Individual and family therapy
  • Pharmacologic therapy
