What does transitioning to paperless statements mean?
If you're the guarantor* on a UChicago Medicine MyChart account, billing statements will now be sent through MyChart instead of by mail. You can switch back to paper statements anytime by updating your preferences in MyChart.
*A guarantor is the person responsible for paying the account balance.
Can I still receive paper statements?
Yes. To keep receiving paper statements, follow these simple instructions to opt out of paperless billing.
What happens if I miss a statement in MyChart and forget to pay?
Your first two billing statements will be paperless. If the balance remains unpaid, a third statement will be mailed to you as a reminder.
Will all my hospital and physician bills go paperless?
Yes. All hospital and physician bills associated with each guarantor account will transition to paperless billing.
Who can I contact for help with paperless billing?
We're here to help. Call our billing support team at 1-844-442-4278 for assistance.
If I manage billing for a family member, who receives the statements?
If your child is under 18, you’ll receive the statements. For adults 18 and older, they will receive their own statements unless you’re the guarantor or have power of attorney.
