Making spirits bright: Celebrating the holiday season at Comer Children’s

Comer patients videochat with Santa

It’s no fun being sick, especially when you’re a kid. That’s why the entire team at Comer Children’s Hospital works hard to bring holiday magic to our patients.

From toy drives and holiday games, to a Nutcracker performance and special bedside visits with Santa, we call our seasonal merriment Comer Cheer. Supported by an army of donors and volunteers, we make sure every patient at Comer Children’s gets to experience the joys of the season – even if it’s from a hospital bed.

“You see a lot of bad in the world these days,” said Michelle Jarrett, whose daughter Mya previously spent holidays in Comer Children’s while being treated for cancer. “When you see that there are good people out there that still do good things for people they don’t even know. That’s what’s really touching for us.”

We spread the magic of Comer Cheer for kids like Mya. But we certainly don’t do it alone.

From the entire Comer Children’s family to yours: Thank you for helping us make spirits bright. Here’s to a happy – and healthy – 2018.
