April 18, 2005

Jorge A. Solis was elected to the University of Chicago Hospitals board of trustees at their winter meeting.

Solis is senior vice president and division head of middle marketing commercial banking at LaSalle Bank NA. He oversees all areas of commercial banking for middle-market companies, with a special emphasis on Hispanic-owned, privately held companies.

"Jorge Solis brings a solid business background to the Hospitals board that will be much appreciated," said Michael Riordan, president and CEO of the University of Chicago Hospitals. "His election represents another important community in the diverse fabric of Chicago on our board."

Solis joined LaSalle in 2002 with more than 25 years of banking experience, primarily at Bank One (formerly First Chicago NBD) in Michigan, with considerable involvement in international banking.

He received his B.S. degree in accounting and his M.B.A. degree in finance from the University of Detroit.

Solis lives in Chicago and is also active on the boards of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Lawson House YMCA, Joffrey Ballet and the U.S./Mexico Chamber of Commerce.

David Gomez and Associates assisted the Hospitals in identifying Solis as a possible candidate for the Board.
