World-class advanced heart failure, arrhythmia care now available at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial in Harvey, Ill.

Expanded cardiology and cardiac surgery services – including consultations with world-class experts in the treatment of advanced heart failure and arrhythmias – are now available at the University of Chicago Medicine at Ingalls Memorial in Harvey, Ill.

UChicago Medicine’s Center for Heart Failure, Transplant & Mechanical Circulatory Support and Center for Arrhythmia Care at Ingalls will bring the institution’s comprehensive heart care closer to patients in the Southland region.

Care providers in the advanced heart failure center will provide patients with evaluations for heart transplantation, left ventricular assist devices and cardiopulmonary stress testing, as well as for the treatment of heart failure with reduced and preserved ejection fraction, cardiac amyloidosis and cardiac sarcoidosis.

People in need of care for heart rhythm disorders can see physicians in the arrhythmia center for services and treatments, including ablation procedures, implantable devices, cardiac resynchronization therapy, cardioversion, lead management and left atrial appendage occlusion or exclusion. Medical, nonsurgical and surgical treatments are available.

Teams at both centers will provide comprehensive support with the most leading-edge technologies, including clinical trials for access to treatments not yet available at other hospitals.

The advanced heart failure team is led by Nir Uriel, MD, director of Heart Failure, Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support at UChicago Medicine, and the arrhythmia team is led by Roderick Tung, MD, director of Cardiac Electrophysiology. Their teams will be seeing patients at the Harvey Outpatient Center, located at 71 W. 156th Street.
