Jill C. Glick, MD, is a dedicated child abuse pediatrician and a respected child advocate. Dr. Glick is passionate about pediatric emergency medicine and child abuse pediatrics, with a focus on promoting safety for children and developing the medical knowledge needed to reduce errors in determining child abuse. In 1993, she established the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital Child Advocacy and Protective Services (CAPS) team, an interdisciplinary response to the increasing incidence of child maltreatment. The CAPS team is regionally recognized for its excellence in care.
As director of the Multidisciplinary Pediatric Education and Evaluation Consortium, Dr. Glick heads a statewide network of doctors and child abuse experts focused on identifying and eradicating child abuse. She also serves as chair of the child abuse and neglect committee for the Illinois chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is an active member of the Helfer Society, a fellowship of child abuse medical specialists.
Because of her child advocacy efforts, Dr. Glick has been a recipient of the Biological Sciences Division Distinguished Community Service and Advocacy Faculty Award, the Prevent Child Abuse Illinois “Friend of Children Professional Award,“ the Pritzker School of Medicine Gold Humanism Award, the University of Chicago Medicine Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award, the L. Sanford Blustin public service award. She was also inducted into the medical academic society Alpha Omega Alpha."
