Clinical Chemistry
Our Clinical Chemistry Laboratory offers a wide range of testing, including routine chemistries, therapeutic drug monitoring, and specialized biochemical testing spanning cardiology, endocrinology, oncology, hemoglobin disorders, maternal-fetal health, and toxicology.
- Routine chemistries include commonly ordered biochemical tests focused on basic metabolic functions and organ health, such as electrolytes, creatinine, glucose, total protein, albumin, liver enzymes, and bilirubin tests.
- Cardiology testing includes NT-proBNP, troponin, lipid panels, and C-reactive protein.
- Endocrinology testing encompasses the measurement of a variety of hormone levels, including thyroid and parathyroid hormones, steroid and sex hormones, and bone turnover markers.
- Tumor marker testing includes assays such as PSA, CA-125, CEA, and CA 19-9.
- Serum and urine protein analyses are performed using capillary and gel electrophoresis.
- Hemoglobin disorders are genetic conditions that affect hemoglobin production and function in red blood cells.
- Preeclampsia risk assessment utilizes the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio.
- Therapeutic drug monitoring is used to measure serum levels of certain medications, including cyclosporine, everolimus, sirolimus, and tacrolimus, which are used for immunosuppressive therapy.
- Toxicology testing includes drug-of-abuse screening and lead testing.
