Queen Latifah visits patients at University of Chicago Children's Hospital

Queen Latifah, Grammy award-winning music artist and actress, visited seriously ill children on Saturday, June 20, 1998, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. at the University of Chicago Children's Hospital (UCCH), 5839 S. Maryland Avenue.

Queen Latifah's debut album "All Hail The Queen" was released in 1989 and sold more than 1 million copies. Additional releases include "Nature of A Sista" and "Black Reign." Her fourth album, "Order in the Court," is scheduled to arrive in stores this month.

Queen Latifah starred in her own TV sitcom, "Living Single," on the Fox Network from 1993-1997. She has also appeared in several movies including "Sphere" (1998) co-starring Dustin Hoffman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sharon Stone; "Hoodlum;" "Set It Off;" "Juice;" and "Jungle Fever."

In addition to her singing and acting talents, she is the founder and CEO of her own record label and management company, Flavor Unit Entertainment.

During her visit to the University of Chicago Children's Hospital, Queen Latifah visited with patients in the playroom, signed autographs, and distributed T-shirts to children.
