University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine fourth-year students found out Friday where they will be doing their medical residencies. The news came in envelopes opened at the same time by medical students around the country. Family and friends joined the soon-to-be MDs in the Match Day celebration.
When Michele Kerulis was diagnosed with breast cancer, she turned to UChicago Medicine experts for help. Rita Nanda, MD, offered Kerulis participation in a clinical trial testing the addition of an immunotherapy to standard chemotherapy for high-risk breast cancers. The cancer went into remission.
During the winter season, blood donations and blood supplies decline nationwide. To help UChicago Medicine maintain its blood supply during the seasonal shortage, the UChicago Medicine Blood Donation Center encourages faculty, staff, students and community members to donate year round, and particularly in early 2018.
