UChicago Medicine expands suburban presence with Flossmoor primary care practice
The University of Chicago Medicine is opening a new family medicine practice in Flossmoor as part of its effort to expand its medical care beyond its main Hyde Park campus.
Alex DeJong, DO, Richard DeJong, MD, Amit Joshi, MD, and Amy Pannaralla, DO, who’ve been long-time primary care providers in Chicago’s suburbs, began treating patients at their new location in March.
“We’re excited to expand our offerings of comprehensive family medicine to the Flossmoor community,” said Jeffrey Glassroth, MD, Physician Director of UChicago Medicine’s Faculty Practice Plan. “This team of highly skilled, compassionate physicians will provide a full-range of primary care in a community setting while also being able to connect patients with UChicago Medicine’s network of world-class specialists.”
UChicago Medicine has more than 850 physicians who provide primary and specialty care across the Chicagoland community. The South Side academic medical center is in the midst of an expansion effort aimed at treating patients closer to their homes.
In December 2016, UChicago Medicine opened its new Center for Advanced Care at Orland Park, a $61 million outpatient clinic offering primary and specialty care. UChicago Medicine opened itsCenter for Advanced Care at South Loop in February 2017.
The Flossmoor family medicine practice, which will be open six days a week and have same-day and Saturday appointments, is located at 19550 Governors Highway.
