Ingalls sponsors 34th annual free family health fair May 6 in Matteson

Several physicians from the University of Chicago Center for Advanced Medicine in Orland Park, including specialists in primary care, oncology, endocrinology, cardiovascular and orthopedics, will help staff and perform health screenings at the 34th Annual Southland Health Fair Saturday, May 6, at the Matteson Community Center.

Sponsored by Ingalls Health System, the 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. fair features 25 free screenings, including total cholesterol; 12-lead EKGs (for people over 30 years); screenings for skin, colon, and breast cancers; screenings for arthritis, back, neck and joint pain; allergy testing; vision exams; hearing screenings; mini massages; and more.

A $10 lipid profile (which requires a 12-hour fast) also will be offered, along with many other discounted blood tests, including prostate, thyroid and glucose screenings.

Year after year, this health fair is a community favorite; if you’ve never been, why not make plans to join us?

To save time, you can register ahead at Ingalls.org/HealthFair, but appointments aren’t required. All are welcome; there are no residency restrictions.
