Timothy Sanders, MD, PhD, provides skilled neonatal care for infants ranging from extreme prematurity through full term. He specializes in a spectrum of neonatal conditions requiring coordinated intensive care, including complex surgical care.

Dr. Sanders has several years of experience in the management of multiple modes of respiratory support, therapeutic hypothermia and ECMO. As program director for the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship, he oversees the clinical education and scholarship pursuits of future neonatologists. Dr. Sanders’ independent research program investigates mechanisms of patterning and cell communication during embryogenesis, with a particular focus on nervous system development using sophisticated methods for imaging biological processes in real time and at high resolution.
