Meet Dr. Slidell
Mark Slidell, MD, MPH, is a pediatric surgeon, providing care for infants, children and adolescents of all ages. Dr. Slidell is highly skilled in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, such as advanced laparoscopy and minimally invasive treatment of pectus excavatum and carinatum. This approach minimizes discomfort, scarring and recovery time for children. He specializes in the treatment of neonatal diseases, congenital malformations, pediatric cancers, and gastrointestinal and aerodigestive conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Dr. Slidell is an expert in diseases of the pancreas, bile ducts, and liver and works with a multidisciplinary team to offer total pancreatectomy with islet autotransplantation team to children who need a pancreatectomy.
As a researcher, Dr. Slidell is dedicated to advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques. He is actively involved in conducting patient safety, quality improvement and clinical outcomes research. Dr. Slidell's work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Pediatric Surgery and Annals of Surgical Oncology.
A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Slidell has been the recipient of several teaching awards.
