Andrea L. Amico, MD, MA, specializes in the management of gastrointestinal and breast malignancies and neuroendocrine tumors in the Section of Hematology/Oncology. She has additional training in clinical cancer genetics, risk and prevention and medical anthropology, with a focus on the social and cultural context and implications of care. During her fellowship, Dr. Amico created a pilot study to explore the risks and benefits of genetic information in high-risk African-American families. She has experience caring for patients from disparate sociocultural and educational backgrounds who have complex medical needs.
