At University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's, a team of specialists works together to evaluate patients and develop individualized plans for treating inflammatory bowel disease. Our team includes gastroenterologists (specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the stomach and intestines) with an expertise in IBD, celiac disease, liver disease and nutrition, as well as dietitians, dermatologists, rheumatologists (specialists in diseases that affect the joints, muscles, bones and immune system), pathologists (scientists who examine laboratory samples of body tissue to help diagnose disease), surgeons and child life specialists.

Meredith McIntee, APN

Meredith has been practicing as an advanced practice nurse in pediatrics since 2015 and joined the Comer Children's gastroenterology team in 2019. She sees children of all ages with a variety of GI conditions and has a special interest in promoting the health knowledge and independence of adolescents and young adults with chronic conditions, such as IBD.

In our Pediatric IBD Health Maintenance Clinic, she offers annual wellness and education visits for children and teens ages 10 and up.
