The chaplains of the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital are focused on attending to your spiritual and emotional needs. We offer compassionate support during your hospitalization or the hospitalization of your loved one.
Our chaplains are clinically trained spiritual care providers who specialize in offering spiritual and emotional care and support to patients and their families. They listen to what is important to each person and remain sensitive to differences in culture, race, religion and sexual orientation. Faith or no faith, they are here to care for you, your child and your family.
A place of peace and solitude is offered on the first floor (Room 1B) in what is known as the Piccolo Chapel. This interfaith chapel is open for quiet reflection 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Families and friends will find sacred literature from various religions, Muslim prayer rugs, weekly prayers and a place to leave your prayer requests.
Comer Children’s interfaith chaplains are available to support our patients and their families 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You may ask your nurse or any member of the health care team to page the on-call chaplain at 7008.
