The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital offers several classes, events, and support groups. From our regularly scheduled meetings to our unique one-time classes, these programs are designed to improve the health of people in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Classes and Events

The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital Golf Classic helps improve the medical and social needs of children by providing funding to programs at the hospital that help children and their families.

Combining the efforts of a fitness expert, dietitian and psychologist, KidFit Camp is a unique, interactive weight management program designed to help 9 to 12-year-old children and their parents establish safe, healthy nutrition and lifestyle habits.

Boys and girls ages 5 to 17 are invited to walk the runway for a good cause while enjoying a day of fun that includes crafts, games, hair, makeup, lunch and a dessert buffet.

The event, sponsored by the Comer Development Board, includes a 5K Run/Walk, Kids’ Dash and Kids’ Mile.

The Family Birth Center offers classes — including several free classes — and support groups for new and expectant parents and families.

Through community partnerships, the University of Chicago Medicine supports a variety of programs and services offering health-related benefits for South Side residents.
