The endocrine system is a network of glands that produce and release hormones. When hormonal disorders arise they can be difficult to detect and treat in children and adolescents. Our pediatric endocrinologists at University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's are experts in a wide range of endocrine disorders. We can help provide comprehensive diagnosis and advanced treatment options for your family.
Our pediatric endocrinologists have expertise in the care and treatment of the full range of endocrine disorders affecting children, from birth to late adolescence. Working with your child's pediatrician, we can devise an individualized treatment plan for your child or teen.
Our staff are experts in and provide a multidisciplinary approach to management of the following conditions:

In addition, the Chicago Center for Reproductive Research at the University of Chicago is one of only eight programs in the country to receive NIH funding. Research at the center helps benefit teens with menstrual irregularities and other related hormonal problems.

If your child suffers from severe weight problems, our "Fit Matters" program can help. This team-based program teaches children how to change their behaviors so they can lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. Other weight-loss programs are available and in partnership with your child’s pediatrician, we can monitor your child's progress. This approach, to help him or her manage their weight over the long term, can be customized to meet your child's needs.
