Workforce Disruption Resource Center

National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United (NNOC/NNU)-represented nurses have called for a strike to begin on Tuesday, November 26, at 7 a.m. To ensure the University of Chicago Medical Center has sufficient replacement workers, UCMC had to guarantee five (5) days of work for these nurses. As a result, the five-day workforce disruption will end at 6:59 a.m. on Sunday, December 1.

The tremendous amount of work and planning that went into the first strike, plus the experience the Medical Center gained from the September event, will ensure our patients continue to receive the safe and excellent care they deserve.
