Philip Verhoef, MD, PhD, FAAP, FACP, is a physician-scientist interested in immune dysfunction in the intensive care unit (ICU), with a long-term objective to bring rigorous immunologic analysis to the care of critically ill patients.

Dr. Verhoef is committed to improving patient care through research through basic, translational, informatic and clinical approaches. He is currently focusing his research on examining how type 2 (allergic) immunity plays a critical pro-resolving, anti-inflammatory role during acute infection.
